Have you seen the social media advertisements where you can start your own business for $99.00?  Or maybe the ones that guarantee you that you can be making SIX Figures in 90 days “by just following their startup guidelines” or a hundred other opportunities that you shouldn’t pass up.

I just sit at my laptop and shake my head.  I understand the inner “need” to start a business, hell I’ve started over a half dozen, and they weren’t always successful.  But why not choose something you are good at, an opportunity you are passionate about and something that really puts a smile on your face when you talk about it?

What would a Lioness do?  The females in a pride tend to do most of the hunting. They work as a group and use intelligent hunting tactics to catch prey which they would not be able to catch alone as most of the larger prey are faster than them. The are normally headed up by an older and more experienced female that will teach the others how to hunt and when to cut their losses. The younger members of a pride will often ‘drive’ a herd of prey animals towards the more experienced hunters who are waiting in ambush.

You wouldn’t see lionesses putting a younger female in the attack position, she may be successful, but that’s not what she would be good at.  She is younger and faster than the elder lionesses of the pride, so they put her in the position where she can make the most difference.

So thinking like a lioness, why not take a little bit of time and list the things you are good at and then go back and look at the list and highlight what you are passionate about.  Look to see if there are one or two options for businesses you could start that would incorporate what you are good at and passionate about.

A little Help:  I sat through a lecture recently where they had us do what they called the “Wheel of Life” activity.  It started out with the things that mattered most and then where you spend most of your time and focus.  It really showed me that my businesses and the other projects I’m working on really do combine both what I’m good at and my passion.  Here is the link if you want to try it http://www.askwhatmatters.com/what-matters-wheel

Now that you have your lists and your “Wheel of Life” what is the next step?  Like any good young lioness, you need to go back to your pride.  The women within your family, your circle of friends, these are the people you should now be looking to to help you take the next step. These ladies are your “PRIDE”. Call them up, have a cup of coffee and share with them your thoughts and ideas.  I’m sure these more experience lionesses can help you through your lists, and discuss your ideas to guide you along the path that is right for you. These pride members will be your cheerleaders and rocks as you navigate through setting up your business.  And who knows, they might have someone in their network who could also lend a hand.

So now that you have a start, comment below about what are you Good & Passionate about?
